My Australian Journey

Immigrating to Australia as a young adult to study at university was lifechanging. Coming from a country with limited means and opportunities, I was amazed with all that was possible in Australia. Starting as a cleaner and slowly progressing to a taxi driver allowed me to experience hard work and learn the value of money. After seeing the opportunities in driving a taxi myself, I knew I had to help others and so I began my first business.
From teaching others how to pass their taxi exam from my small apartment to renting a three-story office building and becoming the second largest taxi licence in New South Wales, only behind the government. I then sold this business for $14million to Macquarie bank. This was only the beginning of my journey of success

Author

I have written 39 books on personal and business development. I believe in sharing my knowledge to help others achieve the same success and avoid the same mistakes which I have made throughout my entrepreneurial journey. This is why I offer these 39 eBooks free of charge from this website, so that everyone has the opportunity to learn success regardless of their current status.

Rotary Club

I am the president of Rotary Club of Archerfield, where we have unbelievable great people working with me and we are enjoying every day and making this club a great success and all of us giving great contribution to the mankind as we all must do a little to make this world better place to live. You can go to the following two websites to know and have better understanding about Rotary, and where you will find we are neighbours, community leaders, and global citizens uniting for the common good. With you, we can accomplish even more. My message is to join Rotary does not matter which country, religion, political party or city you belong to: www.rotaryarcherfield.org.auwww.rotary.org

Rotary Club

Rotary is a global organisation operating for over 110 years with more than 45,000 clubs. They are groups of problem-solvers, working to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. I have the great honour of being the elected President of the Archerfield Rotary Club where we serve our community and make a difference wherever we can. We believe that untied together there is no problem too large to solve.

Fred Hollows Foundation

I am proud to be involved with the Fred Hollows Foundation. I believe that eyesight is one of our greatest gifts and upon discovering that 80% of those who are blind can have their sight restored I knew I had to help anyway I could. The dedication of Sue Lawson, a great friend of mine, inspired me to contribute further to the Fred Hollow’s Foundation and it is due to her commitment that this organisation has a special place in my heart.

P&C Committee

I believe knowledge is the greatest power and that receiving a great education is a right. This is why I am involved in my local college’s P&C. Devoting my time and participating in any capacity from a member to president is extremely important to me. I want to ensure my college is constantly improving and has the assistance and resources to do so.

Charitable Contributions in my Community

As well as my involvement with Rotary, the Fred Hollow’s Foundation, and the P&C committee, I pride myself on additional fundraising and charitable contributions. Whether there’s a fire in Victoria, a flood in Queensland, or disasters outside of our country’s borders I believe in action. I assist my community in fundraising events and functions, organising ways to help those in their time of need.

Achieving the Impossible, Losing Everything

After selling my first taxi training business to Macquarie bank, I moved to New Zealand to start a new venture, Ideal Cabs. I worked closely with the government to decrease unemployment through my proposed “Six Million Dollar Scheme” where I trained those claiming unemployment how to drive a taxi and subsequently employed them to drive for Ideal Cabs. This company grew to the second largest in New Zealand, inspiring me to expand my operations to car yards, a financing company and several other ventures under the Ideal name. While my companies grew so did my confidence and complacency resulting in mistakes and then bankruptcy. After losing everything I had to borrow the money for the flight back to Sydney to again start with nothing and so I drove my taxi.
I began a new venture in the medical industry, offering a remote doctor service which quickly grew. This inspired me to create a 24/7 telehealth line for after hour needs. With these growing medical companies, I was able to hear about the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) first and from there the Cocoon Group of companies were born.

My Success

After experiencing such devastating failure, I could only then understand the true meaning of success. I refused to become complacent and ensured vigilance with even the smallest of tasks to ensure nothing was missed. To launch Cocoon SDA Care I spent four years researching and slowly building the foundation to be assured of success and ready for a quick expansion which I have achieved.

I am currently the Corporate Strategist for the Cocoon Group of companies.

  • Cocoon SDA Care
    • An NDIS-approved organisation providing 24/7 care in state-of-the-art purpose built housing for people with disabilities

Achieving this success made me realise the importance of resilience and persevering despite the multitude of obstacles in your path. I have transcribed the lessons I have learnt on business success and entrepreneurship into my 39 eBooks all available free of charge from this website.

I hope to help as many entrepreneurs as I can to avoid the mistakes which I have made
